Plates

Plates examine the impermanence of life. Rooted in themes of memory, time, and the natural world. It presents a personal exploration of the ever-changing tides of life in dialogue with emerging technologies. Shaped by motherhood, the work reflects a profound awareness of life's cycles, witnessing growth, change, and the tender passage of time in an attempt to hold what cannot be held through the act of image-making.

This ongoing series bridges photography's analog origins with its digital evolution. Each photograph begins as a unique digital original, authenticated through a singular smart contract on the blockchain. Plates draw from photographic history, positioning each work as both object and commentary—honoring photography’s physical origins while reimagining originality in the digital age.

The accompanying analog prints are formed through a direct chemical reaction with light and material. These physical editions serve as tangible expressions of the one-of-a-kind digital originals. Each print bears the subtle imperfections and material presence that define analog processes.

Born during a time of both personal and technological transition, Plates reflect a desire to hold what is fleeting while questioning the nature of permanence itself. It serves as both a study in authorship and an invitation to consider how meaning shifts across time, body, and medium.
