Collection: Plates

Plates examines the impermanence of life. Rooted in themes of memory, time, and the natural world, Cardelucci seeks to offer a space for reflection. It presents a personal exploration of the ever-changing tides of life and her own human experience within them.
This ongoing series bridges photography's analog origins with its digital evolution. Each image begins as a unique digital original, authenticated through a singular smart contract on the blockchain. The term "plates" deliberately echoes historical photographic cataloging methods, honoring the medium's lineage while engaging with its future.
The accompanying platinum and silver gelatin prints, produced in limited editions, are formed through a direct chemical reaction with light and material. These physical editions offer tangible counterparts to the one-of-a-kind digital originals. While created as multiples, each print bears the subtle imperfections and material presence that define analog processes. Through this methodical practice, Plates contemplates how meaning transforms across mediums, inviting viewers to consider the enduring value of both innovation and tradition in photography's evolving landscape.
